Quality, watermarks, and what you get
Instagram re-encodes every upload, so no downloader can return a file untouched by Instagram itself. What instdownloader does is fetch the same file Instagram serves to a logged-out visitor — without adding anything on top and without re-compressing it on the way to you.
Videos keep their original audio track, including the music or voice-over the creator added. Watermarks baked into a video by its creator stay; the only watermarks a downloader can avoid are the ones it would add itself — and instdownloader adds none.
Public posts only
instdownloader works without your Instagram account and reads public pages only. Private accounts, close-friends posts, stories, and direct messages are out of scope, and instdownloader never asks for your password. Download videos you own or have permission to use.

Can I download videos from private Instagram accounts?
No. instdownloader reads public pages only and never signs in, so there is no way for it to see private content — even if you follow the account.
Do the videos download in HD?
You get the highest-quality file Instagram serves for that post, usually 720p or 1080p. If the creator uploaded in a lower quality, that is what the post contains.
Do I need an Instagram account or an app to use instdownloader?
No. instdownloader is a website: it works in any modern browser on iPhone, Android, Windows, and Mac, and you never sign in or install anything.
Can I download several videos at once?
If a single post contains more than one video — for example a carousel — each video is listed separately with its own Download button. There is no batch downloader yet.
