About image quality

Instagram stores several sizes of every upload and serves the largest one to regular visitors — that is the file instdownloader hands you. instdownloader does not shrink, resize, or re-compress photos on the way; what you save is what the post serves.

Keep in mind that Instagram itself compresses uploads. A phone photo posted on Instagram is never identical to the file on the photographer’s camera, and no downloader can recover the difference.

Public posts only

Are the photos I download full resolution?
